TIPS FOR APPLICATION
General use: Apply a layer 25-50mm (1-2 inch) thick and either dig in or allow nature to do the job!
As a backfill mix for trees and shrubs: Combine three parts excavated soil with one part Atlantic Garden soil improver and use this to backfill the planting hole.
For bulbs, shrubs and herbaceous plants: A 3:1 ratio of soil or other planting media and Atlantic Garden soil improver compost should be used.
As a mulch: apply a 25-75mm (1-3 inch) layer around the stem.
For no-dig beds: A 3" covering os Atlantic Garden seaweed compost with a general organic layer/compost layer to make 4-6" covering.
As a turf topsoil: Aerate the turf and apply a 6-12mm (1/4-1/2 inch) layer of Atlantic Garden soil improver compost and brush or rake in so particles fall into the holes.
For turf establishment: Apply a layer 25-50mm (1-2 inch) thick and incorporate to a minimum depth of 100-150mm (4-6 inch) to establish a good seed bed prior to growing.

Lovely stuff, dark, rich in colour. I have layered this over my raised beds. I am hoping for great things, I have quiet a heavy clay soil and need something to help break this up.
2nd year I've used this compost and already getting excellent results. My tomatoes and courgettes especially love it. Good value as well.
